INTENTIONALLY DESIGNEDA great game day starts long before kickoff
A ticket is only part of getting to a game. This page describes how we are designing the whole day around the families we serve.
EXPECTED
Every family should feel welcomed before they arrive.
Our intake is designed as a conversation, not an interrogation. We ask what the family needs to make the day work: seating, parking, sensory considerations, and how they prefer to communicate. We do not ask families to document hardship, prove they are deserving, or express gratitude.
One point of contact handles each family’s questions before the game and follows up with them afterward.
EASY
A free ticket is not enough if getting in is hard.
We plan the full experience: parking close to the entrance, a clearly identified gate, seats verified as accessible, and companion seats so the family stays together. Every detail is confirmed in writing, in plain language, with exact dates, times, and locations.
The goal is for the logistics to be finished before the family leaves home.
EQUAL
Families are guests at the game.
The experience should not feel like charity. Participation never requires public recognition, a photo, a story, or thanks. Families who choose complete privacy receive exactly the same experience as families who choose to share.
Before, during, and after
BEFOREA conversation about what the day needs. One point of contact. Written confirmation of every detail.
GAME DAYTickets, parking, entrance, and seats confirmed in advance. The family attends on their own. We do not attend, host, or photograph. A direct phone number is provided in case anything goes wrong.
AFTERA short thank-you within two days, and one gentle invitation to tell us what worked and what did not.
If something goes wrong, the family’s problem comes first. Every family receives the Executive Director’s direct phone number, so they can reach a person on game day. We fix the problem as quickly and completely as we can, review what happened afterward, and follow up with the family ourselves.
Built to learn
The first season is a pilot, on purpose. We start small, ask good questions, and review honestly: what intake really takes, what families run into at the gate, and what they valued that we did not predict. Feedback only counts if it changes something. When a family's suggestion improves the program, we tell them.
What this page is, and is not
This page describes how we are designing the program and the standard we hold ourselves to. Our eligibility criteria and referral partnerships are being finalized, and we will publish them here when they are ready. We will not describe a family as served until that is true.
Tickets are what we provide.
Belonging is what we are working toward.
